Franché Makeup Tips

How to Apply Franché Vitamin and Mineral Foundation

Due to the purity of our mineral foundation, it requires some simple techniques to obtain the coverage you desire. Over the past year, our make-up artists have perfected the art of application and here are their suggestions:

On a clean face, always apply the appropriate moisturizer for your skin type and allow it to dry completely. With your Franché® Foundation or Powder Brush, lightly stroke the foundation and begin applying in a circular motion working from the center of the face out towards the hairline, down the jaw-line and blending into the neck. Remember that mineral make-up is very concentrated due to the fact that it is not diluted with talc, dyes or binders. It is very important to use a light touch when applying and layer where you require more coverage.

Normal to Dry Skin:

When you achieve the coverage you desire, lightly blend with a dry (non-latex) sponge.

Normal to Oily Skin:

T-zone needs special attention, blending well with a dry (non-latex) sponge.

For Heavy Coverage:

Layer on where you need the extra coverage with the Foundation Brush of your choice or a dry (non-latex) sponge. Problem areas need special attention, blend evenly.

For Post-Laser Surgery:

Skin should have fully completed the re-epithelization process before makeup is applied. Avoid applying makeup over petroleum-based ointments or thick creams. We recommend using a flocked sponge with a gentle rocking motion. Our Franché® Foundation Brush can also be used with a stippling motion until the desired coverage is achieved.

How to Apply Franché Universal Concealer

To cover under eye circles, apply Franché® Universal Concealer with brush. Press on discolored area only (do not apply to outer eye area). Remember Franché® Universal Concealer is extremely concentrated. Use a small amount then layer as needed. Blend lightly with sponge, proceed with foundation.

If extra moisture is needed, follow above instructions and use a small amount of Franché® Eye Treat on ring finger, blend lightly with concealer until a creamy beige emulsion is formed. Franché® Eye Treat is the best product for puffy eyes, infused with botanical extracts and chamomile; it is super hydrating and de-puffs the most tired eyes. Eye Treat may also be used alone or under any other eye products.

To conceal hyper pigmentation or blemishes- apply Franché® Universal Concealer the same way as described in step 1; using a brush or sponge before applying your foundation.

Franché Perfection Techniques

Issue:

Heavy or mask like appearance.

Cause:

Wrong application tool, too much product, or color is too light or too dark.

Solution:

Use a Pointed Powder Brush to apply a light layer of foundation. If necessary, custom blend two shades to achieve a natural look.

Issue:

Pores appear larger and more pronounced.

Cause:

Over application and omitting final step.

Solution:

Remember less is more with minerals. Be sure to glide your Franché® sponge over the face to remove excess and smooth the foundation with your Franché® sponge as your final step.

Issue:

Powder is lying in fine lines.

Cause:

Over-application ~ too much powder on your brush.

Solution:

Remember your finishing step and glide your Franché® sponge over your entire face as your final step.

Issue:

Uneven appearance, blotchy or streaked finish.

Cause:

Moisturizer has not penetrated into the skin yet and the foundation is accumulating on the damp areas.

Solution:

Let moisturizer set for a minute or two before foundation application. Do not use a moisturizer with a heavy viscosity-choose a light texture. Refrain from using an alpha-hydroxyl moisturizer under your Franché® Foundation. For the Ultimate in Long Lasting Matte Finish.
